LATEST NEWS * ÚLTIMA HORA
- BREAKING NEWS * LA CRÈME DE LA CRÈME: Bem-haja à [i Online], por me aceitarem como iRepóter e estarem a divulgar a Regata Atlântico Azul!!! * Dear Blogger Friends! I am now an iReporter of the Portuguese newspaper [i Online]!!! How 'bout that, Leif Hagen, huh?! This is the first time I get some news published!!!...
* By extraordinary coincidence, August 15th is not only the day I met the sailing Barges of the Tagus (at Cascais, in 2005), but also the Birthday of our Dear SAINT ANTHONY (born in Lisbon, Portugal, and deceased in Padua, Italy). Last but not the least, the typical sailing Barge «SANTO ANTÓNIO» will be participating in next Saturday's Race!...

«It is urgent to have Love. It is urgent to have a boat on the sea. It is urgent to destroy some words, hatred, loneliness and cruelty, some complaints, many swords. It is urgent to invent happiness, to multiply kisses, harvests. It is urgent to discover roses and rivers and bright mornings. Silence falls on the shoulders and the impure light, until it hurts. It is urgent to have Love, it is urgent to remain.»

NOTHING BUT SEA AND SKY
(Photo by Sailor Girl, of the same Lighthouse of Cabo da Roca, the westernmost place in Europe, as seen from Guincho, Cascais, near Lisbon)

«Song of the Flower»-, por Khalil Gibran

At dawn I unite with the breeze to announce the coming of light;
At eventide I join the birds in bidding the light farewell.
The plains are decorated with my beautiful colors, and the air is scented with my fragrance.
As I embrace Slumber the eyes of
Night watch over me, and as I
Awaken I stare at the sun, which is
The only eye of the day.
I drink dew for wine, and hearken to
The voices of the birds, and dance
To the rhythmic swaying of the grass.
I am the lover's gift; I am the wedding wreath;
I am the memory of a moment of happiness;
I am the last gift of the living to the dead;
I am a part of joy and a part of sorrow.
But I look up high to see only the light,
And never look down to see my shadow.
This is wisdom which man must learn.»
