Chegada do TRIDENTE em 2 de Agosto de 2010

Transcrevemos, com bastante emoção, a seguinte mensagem do Senhor Almirante Bastos Saldanha, da Marinha do Tejo, que agradecemos:

«Procedente do estaleiro alemão seu construtor, o Navio da República Portuguesa TRIDENTE, a mais moderna unidade da nossa Armada, chegou à Base Naval de Lisboa (Alfeite) ao fim da manhã do dia 2 de Agosto de 2010.

Em qualquer país ocidental, a chegada inaugural de um navio ao seu porto de armamento é a ocasião única para lhe prestar honras de soberania mas também de festa maior para as comunidades marítima e náutica e a população, sinal indelével de incorporação na Identidade Pátria.

Não foi assim na manhã radiosa de 2 de Agosto, em que apenas o Estuário milenar deu as boas vindas ao TRIDENTE, conjuntamente com dois rebocadores, a lancha dos Pilotos, uma unidade auxiliar da Capitania do Porto de Lisboa e três canoas da Marinha do Tejo: a ANA PAULA, o QUIM ZÉ e o GAVIÃO DOS MARES. Por ser dia de trabalho, os humildes não puderam participar mas estiveram presentes por intermédio dos seus camaradas.

Com a devida vénia ao seu autor, Prof. Doutor Fernando Carvalho Rodrigues, transcreve-se em seguida o depoimento expressivo de alguém que muito ama Portugal e venera a Marinha dos Portugueses: «Mal entrou no Tejo, o Tridente, vindo da Alemanha, avistou canoas do Tejo, da Marinha do Tejo. Nesse momento viu que finalmente estava em casa. Não estavam dignatários à sua espera. Pensou que ainda bem, porque assim estava sem mácula, apenas a Alma límpida de Portugal. Soube que estava na sua Pátria. Trazia embarcados Oficiais e Guarnição. Vinha a bordo o Almirante da Esquadra. Ele, e eles, ficaram a saber o que defendem. Deus os Guarde a Ele e a todos os que nele embarcarem.»

Está confirmada a participação na Regata Atlântico Azul do lindíssimo CATRAIO «SANTO ANTÓNIO», de Domingos Reis (proprietário e arrais), registada em Alcochete em 1998, ilustre membro da «Marinha do Tejo» (instituída por [DESPACHO] n.º 15899/2008, de 20 de Maio, do Secretário de Estado da Defesa Nacional e dos Assuntos do Mar, que posteriormente aprovou o Regulamento de Conformação das Embarcações Típicas do Tejo, nos termos do [DESPACHO] n.º 6010/2009, de 12 de Fevereiro). Por coincidência, esta regata tem-se realizado anualmente no dia 15 de Agosto (dia em que conheci os Amigos Proprietários e Arrais de Embarcações Tradicionais do Tejo em Cascais, em 2005). Por coincidência extraordinária, o dia 15 de Agosto é também o dia de nascimento do nosso Padroeiro SANTO ANTÓNIO!... * By extraordinary coincidence, August 15th is not only the day I met the sailing Barges of the Tagus (at Cascais, in 2005), but also the Birthday of our Dear SAINT ANTHONY (born in Lisbon, Portugal, and deceased in Padua, Italy). Last but not the least, the typical sailing Barge «SANTO ANTÓNIO» will be participating in next Saturday's Race!...

(Cont.) On the precise moment «SALVARAM-ME» met «QUIM ZÉ» last Saturday an unusual phenomenon happened: some of their main flags melt, the Portuguese Republic Flag (on the left) and one of the Portuguese Royal Flags used before the instauration of the Republic (on the right)!... LOL!...

Dia da Marinha do Tejo (02)

I should have taken last Friday off to rest for such an important event as last Saturday's, the first anniversary of the Tagus Navy, which became officially the Day of the Tagus Navy. But ney, it was not possible. So, I went to sleep rather late Friday night and woke up really tired, exausted and burnt from a maniac week doing I don't really know what or what for. So I woke up and had Sailor Mum actually kicking me out of bed (she is an excellent waking up alarm intelligent system), in spite of my protests. But God helped me and I managed to take a bath and all (I even washed my teeth and had my hair done at an amazing speed)! While drying my hair, I shouted to Sailor Mum the clothes she was ever so kind to prepare for me to dress (I only had five more minutes to get ready): my blue jeans, my white sports shoes, my white tennis socks with a pink ball, a white t-shirt, my hat from «Atlântico Azul», my flag pin, my underwear and, of course, my «CREOULA» polo!!! Then off we went from Cascais to Doca da Marinha (in Lisbon, right in front of the Ministry of Finances - Y E S)! We were right on schedule!!! So I was able to run for a coffee (a real one, black, with no sugar added) and return right on time to watch the first sailing barge to arrive at the dock, the barge «SALVARAM-ME»!!! The sailing barges had to arrive before the VIPs, which included the Secretary of State for National Defense and Maritime Affairs (Dr. João Mira Gomes) and the Head of the Portuguese Navy (Almirante Melo Gomes). This photo depicts the flags on the mast of the second sailing barge to arrive to the Dock of the Navy, the barge «QUIM ZÉ», another member of the Tagus Navy. She belongs to Mr. José Joaquim Pessoa Gonçalves, who is also her skipper, and was built at Moita in 1986. «QUIM ZÉ» is known not only for its beauty but also for all her flags. These on the photos depict the Portuguese official Flag, the Flag of Atlântico Azul, the Flag of the municipality of Moita and the Flag of the Parish of Gaio (Rosário, Moita).

A Marinha do Tejo lado-a-lado com a Marinha Portuguesa na Homenagem prestada a Nossa Senhora de Fátima e ao Cristo-Rei no Sábado passado, no Tejo.

Last Saturday, May 16th, the Statue of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima travelled to Lisbon and crossed the River Tagus to Almada by SHIP aboard «DRAGÃO» within the Cellebration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Monument to Christ the King. The sailing event was awsome, I took almost 1000 photos aboard «MONTEVIL», one of SVITZER's beautiful Tugs, and therefore it will be difficult to post them all. Along the next days, I will be posting the very Best Of... Until then, please find yourselves a sample...

Luís Rock, from Moita, aboard his beautiful «SALVARAM-ME» («THEY SAVED ME»), a traditional sailing barge from the Tagus that was left abandonned and sinking for years in the Tagus River, but that he saved from death.

A Procissão fluvial de Sábado passado foi um momento único na História do Tejo. Embarquei a bordo do «MONTEVIL», um dos lindos rebocadores da SVITZER, que conta com tripulação da Moita! Pude fotografar as dezenas de embarcações que participaram na procissão, de que destaco a «SALVARAM-ME», a «GAVIÃO DOS MARES», a «NINA», a «QUIM ZÉ», a «BOA VIAGEM», a «BONECA», a «PRIMAVERA», o «IMAGINE», a «PRINCESA DO TEJO» (comandada pelo pai do proprietário, uma vez que este, o Bruno Seawolf, ia a bordo da «CASSIOPEIA»), a «SAGRES», o «PRÍNCIPE PERFEITO», o «FOX HOUND», o «BLUE MARLIN», o «NAVY BLUE», o «KIAROA», o «PRIMADONNA», o «FADO», o «TRANQUILIDADE», o «INSÓNIA», o «VIRA-VENTOS», o «SVITZER LISBOA», o «SÃO PAULUS», o «ALENTEJENSE», o «DAMIÃO DE GOES», o «TRITON», o «AJAX», o «BAIXA-MAR», o «QSLIXE», e tantas outras mais! Tirei cerca de 1000 fotografias, que irei publicando ao longo dos próximos dias...
