SONG TO «T.S. HAMBURG» # 04

«Going back to the port where I first saw you, Gonna camp in my sleeping bag, no I'm not gonna move. Got some words on cardboard, got your picture in my hand, Saying if you see this SHIP can you tell her where I am... Some try to hand me money, they don't understand, I'm not... broke. I'm just a broken hearted SEGELERIN, I know it makes no sense, but what else can I do? How can I move on when I've been in love with you... Cos if one day you wake up and find that you're missing me, And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be, Thinking maybe you'd sail back here to the place that we'd meet, And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the harbour. So I'm not moving... I'm not moving. Policeman says «Sailor Girl, you can't sit here», I said «There's a SHIP I'm waiting for... if it's a day, a month, a year, gotta stand my ground even if it rains or snows, If she changes her mind this is the first place she will go». Cos if one day you wake up and find that your missing me, And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be, Thinking maybe you'd come back here to the place that we'd meet, And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the street. So I'm not moving... I'm not moving. I'm not moving... I'm not moving. People talk about the Girl who's waiting on a SHIP... Oohoohwoo There is no hole in her shoes but a big hole in her world... Hmmmm Maybe I'll get famous as the SEGELERIN who can't be moved, and maybe you won't mean to, but you'll see me on the news, And you'll come running to the corner... Cos you'll know it's just for you I'm the SEGELERIN who can't be moved I'm the SEGELERIN who can't be moved... Cos if one day you wake up and find that your missing me, And your heart starts to wonder where on this earth I can be, Thinking maybe you'd come back here to the place that we'd meet, And you'd see me waiting for you on the corner of the Harbour. So I'm not moving... I'm not moving. I'm not moving... I'm not moving. Going back to the corner where I first saw you, Gonna camp in my sleeping bag not I'm not gonna move.»
Addapted from the song «The Man Who Can't Be Moved», by The Script, also playing at Rádio Atlântico Azul!...

SONG TO «T.S. HAMBURG» # 03

«The wise man said just walk this way to the dawn of the light. The wind will blow into your face as the years pass you by. Hear this voice from deep inside? It's the call of your heart. Close your eyes and your will find the passage out of the dark. Here I am, will you send me an angel? Here I am, in the land of the morning star. The wise man said just find your place in the eye of the storm, seek the roses along the way, just beware of the thorns. Here I am, will you send me an angel? Here I am, in the land of the morning star. The wise man said just raise your hand and reach out for the spell, find the door to the promised land, j ust believe in yourself. Hear this voice from deep inside? It's the call of your heart! Close your eyes and your will find the way out of the dark. Here I am, will you send me an angel? Here I am, in the land of the morning star...»
«Send me an Angel», by The Scorpions. Music: Rudolf Schenker. Lyrics: Klaus Meine.

SO HELP HIM GOD!

I have just watched (at 5 p.m. in Lisbon) Mr. President Barack Obama becoming the 44th President of the United States! Minutes before the orchestra played an awsome music called «Air and Simple Gifts», by Yo-Yo Ma. Until I am not able to find it, I've just added two versions of the song, now playing at Rádio Atlântico Azul!!!...
As Richies, from [An Arkie's Musings], so well refers, I also hope «...that we in all countries will be able to reach out to each other a try for what is best for all people»!...

THAT'S MY WORLD TUESDAY # 12

(All photos by Sailor Girl)
«I walked across an empty land ,
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand.
I felt the earth beneath my feet,
Sat by the river and it made me complete.
Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin...
I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?
Oh simple thing where have you gone?
I'm getting old and I need something to rely on
So tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired and I need somewhere to begin.
So if you have a minute why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything,
So why don't we go somewhere only we know?»

All photos by SAILOR GIRL taken in Lisbon, Portugal. Lyrics and music by KEANE, one of my favourite bands, now playing at Radio Atlântico Azul. A contribution to «[That's my World Tuesday]».

To all suffering from Depression: keep running up that hill

(Photo taken by Sailor Girl on April 18, 2003, on a walk from Cais-do-Sodré do Cascais to clear the head)
«It doesn't hurt me... Do you want to feel how it feels? Do you want to know, know that it doesn't hurt me? Do you want to hear about the deal I'm making you? It's you and me. And if I only could I'd make a deal with God, and I'd get Him to swap our places. Be running up that road, be running up that hill, be running up that building. Say if I only could oh...
You don't want to hurt me, but see how deep the bullet lies unaware! I'm tearing you asunder Oh there is thunder in our hearts, is there so much hate for the ones we love? Tell me we both matter, don't we? You, it's you and me! It's you and me, you won't be unhappy! And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God and I'd get Him to swap our places. Be running up that road, be running up that hill, be running up that building, If I only could... You, it's you and me! It's you and me, you won't be unhappy! Come on baby, come on darling, let me steal this moment from you now! Come on angel, come on, come on darling, let's exchange the experience, oh... And if I only could, I'd make a deal with God, and I'd get Him to swap our places. Be running up that road, be running up that hill with no problems... And if I only could, be running up that hill...With no problems

«Angel of Mercy», by One Republic

(Angel of Mercy, playing Trumpet)
«Angel of Mercy, how did you find me? Where did you read my story? Pulled from the papers, desperate and hardened, seeking a momentary fix. Angel of Mercy, how did you find me? How did you pick me up again? Angel of Mercy, how did you move me? Why am I on my feet again? And I see you, I feel you before just the daylight, come and I stand by waiting to catch the quickest plane, flying to nowhere, is better than somewhere, that's where I've been and nothing's changed... And I see you, I feel you, I'm so lost in you...»
Angel of Mercy», by One Republic, now playing on the 2nd track of Rádio Atlântico Azul)

* * * * *
The second music now playing at Rádio Atlântico Azul («Bom feeling») means «Good feeling» and is dedicated to each and everyone who sometimes forget to put a big smile on their faces, due to the difficult situations we have to endure on a daily basis... It is also dedicated to Mary Beth, to make her Happy and with a promise to translate it into English as soon as possible. So here goes the lyrics...
(Sara Tavares)
«Deixa a janela do sorriso aberta, coisa boa, boa, coisa desperta. Canta Caia, Caia nos liberta. Deixa a janela do sorriso aberta, coisa boa, boa, coisa desperta. Canta Caia, Caia nos liberta. Dá-me um Bom feeling... Bom feeling... Bom feeling... Bom feeling... Dá-me um... Bom feeling... Bom feeling... Bom feeling... Bom feeling...[- Esse coração assim desagasalhado, vais sair assim?

TODAY'S FLOWERS SUNDAY # 06

«Girl With a Watering Can» (1876), by Pierre Auguste Renoir (1841-1919), one of my favourite impressionist artists. A contribution to [Today's Flowers Sunday]!...
And now here goes the best translation I could do of the lyrics of the first song now playing at Rádio Atlântico Azul, «Encosta-te a mim» («Cuddle up to me»), as per Mary Beth's special request:
«Cuddle up to me, we have already lived a hundred thousand years. Cuddle up to me, maybe I am overreacting. Cuddle up to me, kick away your disillusions, do not want to see who I am not, let me arrive. Arrived from war, I did everything to survive in the name of Earth, basically to deserve you. Please receive me well, do not disenchant my steps. Make me your hero, I do not want to fall asleep. Everything I saw, I am sharing with you. What I did not live, I will invent it with you. I know that I do not know, sometimes, how to understand the look in your eyes, but I want you well, cuddle up to me. Cuddle up to me, we get insane with each other so many times. Neighbour of mine, let your backyard be mine. Receive this dove that is not loaded, was bought, was stolen, whatever. I come from nothing, because I bulldozed what I did not want on behalf of the road, where I just want to be happy. Cuddle up to me, go disarm the burned flower, go kiss the bomb-man, I want to fall asleep. Everything that I saw, I am sharing with you. What I have not lived, one day I will invent it with you. I know that I do not know, sometimes , how to understand the look in your eyes, but I want you well, cuddle up to me

(Photo of «[Kuka Girl]» by Sailor Girl)
The first music now playing at Rádio Atlântico Azul was requested by Sailor Mum, who dedicates it to her friends! Here goes the lyrics of «Encosta-te a mim»:
«Encosta-te a mim, nós já vivemos cem mil anos. Encosta-te a mim, talvez eu esteja a exagerar. Encosta-te a mim, desatinamos tantas vezes. Enrosca-te a mim, vai desarmar a flor queimada, vai beijar o homem-bomba, quero adormecer.

ABC Wednesday # 05

«R» is for «Reduce Reuse Recycle», a.k.a. the 3 R's, which is also one of my favourite musics, by Jack Johnson (I desperately tried to download it for a day, to play it at Rádio Atlântico Azul, with no success... you may click [HERE] and choose the song or... buy the CD «Curious George» - it's wonderful and some of its songs are now playing at Rádio Atlântico Azul).

Flam, Land of Serenity

This photo and the previous posted for «Serenity» and «Tranquility» were taken in Flam (Norway), last September. I could live there right now. I felt like in a fairy tale. So now, whenever I go to sleep and am haunted by the madness that surrounds us, I close my eyes and think about this wonderful, magic place, where I found serenity and tranquility for the first time in my life.
This post is complemented by the musics by «[Sigur Ros]» now playing at Radio Atlântico Azul. «Sigur Ros» come from Iceland and are one of my favourite bands. They will play in Lisbon next Tuesday, 11th November, but I am affraid it will not be possible for me to attend...
The first music now playing is «Glósóli», from the album Takk (in English «Thank you»). Please DO watch the music video to «Glósóli», shot in Iceland in August 2005, directed by icelanders Arni & Kinski and featuring a cast of icelandic children. Here go the streaming links:

I'm (sort of) back again!...

Sorry for my long absence!! As you certainly noticed, I have been automatically posting since 18th September and have been unable to view and to reply to your nice comments. As a reward, here goes a photo of a singer I have recently met : Nneka, born in Nigeria (West Africa). You may listen to one of her musics at Radio Atlântico Azul (the first one now playing). I like the combination of her voice with the piano and the (heart) beat! Hope you enjoy it too!!...

Another fabulous poster of the fabulous movie I've recently watched in Lisbon!... Please note that the first three musics now playing at Rádio Atlântico Azul are from its soundtrack. My favourite is the second one, a duet of Pierce Brosnan with Merryl Streep!... Awsome!!!...

Maritime Lisbon

«I used to rule the world, seas would rise when I gave the word. Now in the morning I sleep alone, sweep the streets I used to own... I used to roll the dice, feel the fear in my enemies eyes, listen as the crowd would sing: "Now the old king is dead! Long live the king!" One minute I held the key, next the walls were closed on me. And I discovered that my castles stand upon pillars of salt, and pillars of sand. I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing, Roman Cavalry choirs are singing. Be my mirror my sword and shield, my missionaries in a foreign field. For some reason I can not explain once you know there was never, never an honest word, that was when I ruled the world. It was the wicked and wild wind blew down the doors to let me in. Shattered windows and the sound of drums, people could not believe what I'd become. Revolutionaries wait for my head on a silver plate, just a puppet on a lonely string Oh who would ever want to be king? I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing, Roman Cavalry choirs are singing, be my mirror, my sword and shield, my missionaries in a foreign field. For some reason I can not explain I know Saint Peter won't call my name, never an honest word, and that was when I ruled the world...»
«Viva la Vida», by Coldplay, now playing at Rádio Atlântico Azul. The name of the song is also the name of the album and was inspired in a painting by Frida Kahlo. Inspirado numa obra de Frida Kahlo.

Frida Kahlo, «Viva la vida». 1954. Oil on masonite. 59 x 50.7 cm. Frida Kahlo Museum, Mexico City, Mexico.

Today's first music at Rádio Atlântico Azul

(Legend: «FREE TICKETS FOR ALL, OR ELSE...»)
«Flying saucers could land and it wouldn't make much difference to my man. I could walk aboard and thank the Lord and leave this damn town in seconds flat, check my bags and never come back. Oh, our love is like a fuse that's burned out. Oh, our love is like a fuse that's burned out. Oh, I've been unkind, not like you. Ain't I ashamed, being misused. I liked your Chevy Duster, I liked your brand new trailer, I liked your colour TV, but you looked at that colour TV more than me. More than me»
«Ain't it a Shame», by the B52's, who will soon be playing on a Lisbon Mega Concert and I can´t seem to get a ticket for myself! Ain't it a shame?? LOOOLLL!!!....
By the way, the second music playing today at my Radio is called «In your dreams», is sang by Liliana Correia and was written by portuguese Armando Teixeira (Balla, Bullet). It was exclusively written for a commercial of TMN, one of the Portuguese mobile phone operators. Hope you like it! It's MADE IN PORTUGAL!!!
