AMANHÃ - DIA DA MARINHA DO TEJO

This post concerns the great nautical event that will be held tomorrow, at the Tagus River, cellebrating the first anniversary of the TAGUS NAVY!...

Celebra-se amanhã, dia 27 de Junho de 2009, o Dia da Marinha do Tejo! Para tal vai realizar-se uma cerimónia comemorativa do 1.º Aniversário da Marinha do Tejo, organizada pelo Estado-Maior da Armada e pela Associação dos Proprietários e Arrais das Embarcações Típicas do Tejo, com a participação da Associação Naval Sarilhense e do Centro Náutico Moitense.

As embarcações típicas sairão dos respectivos cais pelas 07h00 para estarem todas em frente à Doca da Marinha (a seguir à Praça do Comércio, mesmo em frente ao Ministério das Finanças) a partir das 09h30. Pelas 10h30 largam para o Alfeite, onde chegarão pelo meio-dia, para o início da Cerimónia de assinatura do Livro de Honra da Marinha do Tejo, seguida de almoço e de uma visita a uma fragata/ corveta ou a um submarino (presumo que seja o «Barracuda»). É uma boa oportunidade para virem assistir, no Rio ou a partir das margens do Tejo (da Praça do Comércio, do Cais-do-Sodré ou de Cacilhas) a mais um ESPECTÁCULO NÁUTICO feito de Cores, de Amizade e Alegria!...

A Marinha do Tejo lado-a-lado com a Marinha Portuguesa na Homenagem prestada a Nossa Senhora de Fátima e ao Cristo-Rei no Sábado passado, no Tejo.

Last Saturday, May 16th, the Statue of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima travelled to Lisbon and crossed the River Tagus to Almada by SHIP aboard «DRAGÃO» within the Cellebration of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Monument to Christ the King. The sailing event was awsome, I took almost 1000 photos aboard «MONTEVIL», one of SVITZER's beautiful Tugs, and therefore it will be difficult to post them all. Along the next days, I will be posting the very Best Of... Until then, please find yourselves a sample...

A Procissão fluvial de Sábado passado foi um momento único na História do Tejo. Embarquei a bordo do «MONTEVIL», um dos lindos rebocadores da SVITZER, que conta com tripulação da Moita! Pude fotografar as dezenas de embarcações que participaram na procissão, de que destaco a «SALVARAM-ME», a «GAVIÃO DOS MARES», a «NINA», a «QUIM ZÉ», a «BOA VIAGEM», a «BONECA», a «PRIMAVERA», o «IMAGINE», a «PRINCESA DO TEJO» (comandada pelo pai do proprietário, uma vez que este, o Bruno Seawolf, ia a bordo da «CASSIOPEIA»), a «SAGRES», o «PRÍNCIPE PERFEITO», o «FOX HOUND», o «BLUE MARLIN», o «NAVY BLUE», o «KIAROA», o «PRIMADONNA», o «FADO», o «TRANQUILIDADE», o «INSÓNIA», o «VIRA-VENTOS», o «SVITZER LISBOA», o «SÃO PAULUS», o «ALENTEJENSE», o «DAMIÃO DE GOES», o «TRITON», o «AJAX», o «BAIXA-MAR», o «QSLIXE», e tantas outras mais! Tirei cerca de 1000 fotografias, que irei publicando ao longo dos próximos dias...

Ao longe, no estaleiro, em reparações, vislumbrei o meu querido «CREOULA». Rezei por ele e pedi que lhe aprovassem depressa o Plano de Embarques para 2009… (CONTINUA) (TO BE CONTINUED)

CONVITE - PROCISSÃO FLUVIAL NO TEJO

Recebido do Senhor Vice Presidente da Assembleia-Geral da «Marinha do Tejo», Dr. Xara-Brasil Nogueira, com pedido de divulgação, o Atlântico Azul tem a honra de divulgar o programa da Travessia do Tejo da imagem de Nossa Senhora de Fátima por ocasião do cinquentenário do monumento ao Cristo-Rei, o qual pode ser visualizado AQUI. ATENÇÃO: A «Associação dos Proprietários e Arrais de Embarcações Típicas do Tejo» (APAETT) solicitou ao Centro Náutico Moitense e à Associação Naval Sarilhense para afixarem, nas respectivas instalações, uma folha destinada a inscrição das embarcações da «Marinha do Tejo» que queiram participar, para garantir que podem ficar na Doca da Marinha (em Lisboa) na manhã do dia 16 e do dia 16 para o dia 17 de Maio.

On May 16 and 17, 2009, the Statue of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima enthroned in the Little Chapel of Apparitions will leave the Shrine for the tenth time. It will travel to Lisbon and cross the River Tagus to Almada by SHIP in order to be present at the Commemorations of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Monument to Christ the King, which include a sailing event to which EVERYBODY IS INVITED. This will be the tenth time the Statue of the Little Chapel of Apparitions leaves the Shrine; the sixth took place precisely for the inaugural of the Monument to Christ-King, on May 17, 1959, when the consecration of Portugal to the Hearts of Jesus and Mary was made. Viva Cascais!!!

This weekend Cascais hosted a fabulous gathering of beautiful traditional sailing barges from the Tagus, with expositions, conferences, sailing activities for everybody, a bonfire party and, today, a great concert by the Band of Portuguese Navy at Baía de Cascais, followed by a great lunch at the Museum of the Sea (Museu do Mar).

This photo in particular depicts one of Cascais sailing barges, named «Não é desgraça ser pobre» («Being poor is no disgrace»), at Cascais Bay, by night. She is one of the many sailing barges of River Tagus registered at the Tagus Army Official Registration Book, aiming at the preservation of these important and historic ships.

Other traditional sailing barges from the Tagus present today at Cascais were from many friends from Moita and Sarilhos Pequenos, such as the following, by alphabetic order:

1. «Esperança» («Hope»), from Sarilhos Pequenos;
2. «Galdéria», from Sarilhos Pequenos;
3. «Nina», from Moita (the «Dream Team», which includes «Sal», the sailor dog);
4. «Ponta da Marinha», from Sarilhos Pequenos;
5. «Quim Zé», from Moita;
6. «Ruaz», from Sarilhos Pequenos;
7. «Sempre consegui» («I made it, after all»), from Rosário.

The Sports Department of the Municipality of Cascais and the Captain of the Port of Lisbon and Cascais must receive a big applause for the splendid organisation and warm reception offered to all sailors and friends during this unforgettable weekend!
