Your text notes are very sympathetical with the ship. But I hope MAXIM is not too sad, but also a little hopeful. In summer 1989 she came in a field of floating ice where she had a collision with a smaller iceberg and began to sink. The passengers were already in the lifeboats as the crew succeeded to patch the leak. So I think she has an excellent guardian angel.
Meanwhile there are two good news. In Hamburg was initiated a “Volksinitiative” the first step for a referendum. And an other German town is also interested in a floating hotel and museum. But this project is young and a little financial details are still to clear.
