LETTER TO MY READERS

THE FIVE PILLARS OF ATLÂNTICO AZUL
Reading the latest issue of Portuguese Navy Review (Revista da Armada), I found an interesting article about moral values, identity and memory which inspired me to write a post specially dedicated to my loyal friends and readers: the knights and other global comrades of Atlântico Azul. Many people asked what happened to this blog and wished all the best. Well, I guess sometimes in life you have to rewind and start all over again to maintain sanity levels to an acceptable point and to preserve each others' identity and memory, based in firm universal values. This blog is meant to be an escape from daily routine and a shield against sadness, loneliness and other less happy feelings deriving from all kinds of mental torture and painful truth. It is meant to put the Happy in our Ness and to try to make us laugh whenever all we want to do is cry or take the next flight departing from Lisbon Airport. It is also a record of daily feelings disguised within photographs, poems and news about the Blue. So much is written behind the scenery. So much is hidden but entirely perceivable. It is Life disguised within the Fantastic. A mental escape in forms of Art based in five pillars, dedicated to my friends and imposed to all readers:
  1. COMPREHENSION
  2. UNIVERSALITY
  3. RESPECT
  4. FREEDOM OF CHOICE
  5. LOYALTY

These are the five pillars of Atlântico Azul, which will be explained in future posts. Until then… KEEP SMILING!...

So nice to have you back in full form... Your principles are correct and open minded. Wish you well and if one day you do get the next plane taking off from Lisbon airport let's hope it is a flight going south to a sunny spot...

Dear Sailor Girl,

Many thanks for this wonderful letter.
I totally subscribe to your pillars and principles.
I wish they could always be present in our daily lives. Unfortunately, it’s not always the case (or “it ain’t necessarily so”, as you certainly know from Porgy & Bess, which I noticed you like) but we can always count on your blueness and freshness of mind and spirit to bring them back to our memories and identities.

All the best and keep it up in this starting afresh!

P.S.: Would you possibly consider taking the flight up north? No sunny beaches around here, but there’s always a smile and lots of ways to put that happy in our ness!

I JUST LOVE GEORGE & IRA GERSHWIN!!!

OK, I'll consider that, but only when in «that foggy london town the sun is shining everywhere»!!!

LOL
