O ESPECTÁCULO COMEÇOU HOJE!!! Cascais está com uma movida nunca vista nas últimas décadas!... Apesar de os Campeonatos do Mundo de Vela Olímpica - Cascais 2007 começarem hoje, a cerimónia de abertura está agendada para o próximo dia 2 de Julho, a partir das 21h30, na Baía de Cascais. Haverá espectáculo multimédia no mar, actuação dos The Gift e do guitarrista Pedro costa e fogo de artifício. Até lá, passem pela Cidadela de Cascais... Alguns números:

Telefone: 96 172 88 30.Informações retiradas da página oficial do evento, [AQUI], de onde retirei também o texto que passo a transcrever: «The ISAF Sailing World Championships are scheduled to start today and until the 13th July Cascais will host a unique show on its waters. 11 World Champion titles will be attributed and the qualification for 75 % of the fleet that will go to Beijing for the Olympics. The numbers are amazing: 1399 sailors, 76 countries, distributed by 945 boats on 11 classes, an entry record for an event that will surely be on this sport history. 306 races will take place on 5 race courses with an equivalent area of 1270 football fields. Bernardo Pinto Gonçalves, Administrator of Portugal Vela 2007, the organizing company, is calm: “Everything is ready for the beginning of the Championships. Only minor details are left do deal with”. Mr. Pinto Gonçalves has no doubts about the great show that will take place on Cascais bay waters: “It will be something unique and never before seen in Portugal. I hope that all will turn out well regarding the competition and that the audience on shore will have a great time watching the races”. The first day of the Championships will be dedicated to administrative procedures and measurements of the boats and the opening of the Press Center on the venue. Media awareness on this competition is more than obvious as more than 200 journalists, Portuguese and international are already accredited. Still tomorrow there is the opening of the Event Village that will be located on Cascais Cidadela, the place to relax and have fun away from the competitive environment. The Cidadela is where all the social program will take place, and will also be a unique spot to watch the races, along with the Guia lighthouse, Tamariz beach on Estoril and Ponta do Sal on São Pedro do Estoril. The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for 21h30 on the 2nd July with a multimedia show on Cascais Bay, with the performance of a portuguese Pop Band named The Gift and a traditional Portuguese guitar player Pedro de Castro. A Fireworks spectacle will end the show.
