Va tacito e nascosto...

The Cloud Maker

Va tacito e nascosto is an aria from Act I, Scene 3 of the Italian opera Giulio Cesare (Julius Caesar) by George Friederic Händel. The aria is sang by Giulio Cesare, emperor of Rome, at the palace of Tolomeo (Alexandria, Egypt), in the year 48 BC. Tolomeo and Caesar meet in a banquet. When Tolomeo subtly threatens him, Caesar responds, saying that he will be on guard against any violence Tolomeo has planned.

Here goes the lyrics of this aria, which was playing at Atlântico Azul when posted, and its translation into English language (with the help of Bucefalo and Fabbrizio, our Italian CDPB Friends):

He goes silent and concealed, when eager for prey, the sly hunter. And who disposes himself to do harm doesn't covet to see the deception within his heart».

As LÁGRIMAS?Não as seques.

O SORRISO?Esse deves segurar.
Não o deixes ir embora.
AGARRA-O.

Quem tu AMAS?
GUARDA dentro de um porta joias.
Fecha,perde a chave.

VOLTA.
Se achares que precisas seguir.
SEGUE.
Se estiver tudo errado.
COMEÇA novamente.
Se estiver tudo certo.
CONTINUA.
Se sentires saudades.
MATA-AS.
Se perderes um amor.
NÃO TE PERCAS.
Se o encontrares.
SEGURA-O!

Rodeia-te de flores
AMA,BEBE e CALA.
O mais é NADA.

Abraço

Fernando Pessoa.

Hello Sailor, thanks for your frequent visits and comment in my blog. I checked your traslation from italian. Unfortunately my English is not so good. But I tried. For the moment I send you this text but I sent also this text to my sister. She live in Sydney and her English is very good, considering that she is an actress and theatre director I think she have not any problem to translate a piece of Handel.
Another I believe that in your italian text there is a little mistake in the 4th line, the original text is: “E chi è a mal far disposto”

Va tacito e nascosto,
quand'avido è di preda,
l'astuto cacciator.
E chi è a mal far disposto,
non brama che si veda
l'inganno del suo cor.

He goes silent and concealed
when is eager(avid) for prey
the sly hunter
and who dispose himself to do hurt
he doesn't conet to see
the deception of his heart

yeah!!!
Lady OF Caesar
they do not see you coming.
you hunted
and then
after the hunt
you leave the prey.
Most got ruined on the way.
So far, you left a few slain on your path.
And you went for the next hunt. Mostly to forget the pain spilled.
They do not see you coming.
But then you are no longer the hunter you used to be.
Youth is gone. The huntress is lost.
You are becoming the prey.
Yet, you think they do not see you coming.
Be aware of the ides of March. Brutus is known to live in Massamá.
